My mission is to provide the most effective treatment for each individual client and to practice adherence to the Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) and Radically Open-Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (RO-DBT) treatment models.
What is Dialectical Behavioural Therapy?
Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) is an evidence based treatment created by Dr. Marsha Linehan for those who suffer from emotional dysregulation. While the treatment was originally developed for nonsuicidal self-injury in individuals diagnosed with borderline personality disorder it has evolved to treat a range of populations, treatment modalities and disorders. I offer a comprehensive DBT program in an outpatient setting, which includes individual therapy, skills groups and phone coaching to children, adolescents and adults. Additionally I receive weekly team consultation to ensure I am providing adherent DBT and additional consultation from international trainers as needed.
What is Radically Open Dialectical Behavioural Therapy?
Radically Open Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (RO-DBT) is an evidence based treatment that was created by Dr. Thomas Lynch for disorders of overcontrol, such as anorexia nervosa, chronic depression, autism spectrum disorder, OCPD and maladaptive perfectionism. I offer RO-DBT individual sessions, skills classes, phone coaching and am part of a national consultation team.
Additional Treatments offered:
In addition to comprehensive DBT and RO-DBT programs, I provide DBT Prolonged Exposure (DBT PE) treatment for trauma cases and work on exposure for a range of anxiety disorders. I also provide techniques of Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) which is an evidence based treatment that increases present living and teaches ways to incorporate daily mindfulness practice. During the first few sessions I'll assess each individual's needs and proceed with the most effective treatment approach.
